Ann's father was James Stones and her mother was Hannah (Ann) Parr.  Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Stones and Ann Mather. She had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Daniel, James, Sally, Nancy, Hannah, Alice and Betty.  She was the second oldest of the nine known children.  She died at the age of 48 in March 1857 in Farnworth.  She was buried on April 2nd, 1857 in Farnworth.²
