AD 1865 "Cutting Pile Fabrics" patent No 2547 was issued to William Blakey Stocks of Liversedge, Finisher. Also to James Whitwarm of Huddersfield, Machinist and William Blakey of Batley Carr Top near Dewsbury, Finisher, all in Yorkshire. The patent was for an invention of "Improvements in Means of Apparatus for Cutting or Shearing the Nap or Pile of Nap or Pile Fabrics".
