Silas was born on March 12th, 1862 in Ohio (OH).1 Silas' father was George (Homer) W Stocks and his mother was Miriam (Myram) E Epworth. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Stocks and Sarah (Sally) Campinot; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Epworth and Mary Ellin. He had five brothers and a sister, named Benjamin, Joseph, James, Job, Samuel and Mary. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 63 on April 30th, 1925 in Missouri (MO).1 Death Notes

Silas's first wife was the sister of Mrs Monroe, wife of Thomas Monroe or Missouri. His first wife died in Mexico, MO. He had one surviving son Harry by his secoind wife, Laura.
Silas D. was elected County Clerk for Moultrie Co, then a prominent lawyer in Mexico, MO.
