David was born on November 23rd, 1738 in Preston-Patrick.1  David's father was Richard Sill and his mother was Isabel Atkinson.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Sill and Margaret Atkinson; his maternal grandparents were David Atkinson and Sarah Wilkinson. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Edward, Richard, Sarah and Margaret.  He was the youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 73 on March 22nd, 1812 in Westmorland.  He was buried on December 25th, 1812 in Westmorland.1
