Birth Notes

William's father was James Scowcroft and his mother was Alice Mather. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Ann Entwistle. He had five brothers and two sisters, named William, Thomas, James, John, James, Ann and Mary. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
