Emma was born in June 1854 in Salford.1  Emma's father was James Partington and her mother was Frances (Fanny) Eddowes.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Eddowes and Charlotte Morris. She had six sisters named Ellen, Emma, Mary, Charlotte, Margaret and Elizabeth.  She was the fifth oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 2 in June 1856 in Salford.2
