Frances, known as Fanny, was born in 1822 in Wrexham.1  Fanny's father was Thomas Eddowes and her mother was Charlotte Morris. She had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, John, Thomas, Daniel, Charlotte and Sarah.  She was the third youngest of the eight children.  She died due to a medical problem, Typhus, Feaver, at the age of 43 on November 20th, 1865 in Barton upon Irwell.  She was buried in November 1865 in Eccles.2 3

‌Fanny and James were married in a religious ceremony on July 27th, 1840 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).4   They had seven daughters named Ellen, Emma, Mary, Charlotte, Emma, Margaret and Elizabeth.
