Barton on Irwell is near Eccles. Farnworth is 18 miles North. Ardwick is 7 miles and SE of Manchester. Ancoats is a the same distance but on the far side (E) of Manchester, so the Ardwick registration seems the most likely, which is also Quarter 4. However, GRO reveals another record for Salford (only 3 miles). BMD has not indexed Salford!

General Notes
In 1840 James was a plaster of Beford, Leigh, son of William Partington, a weaver when he married Frances Eddowes at Leigh
In 1841, James a plasterer, and Fanny (30 & 20) were living in the Regent Road area of Salford with their first daughter Ellen (1 mo) and Frances's brother Thomas (aged 15)
In Q3 1848, Frances and James had a daughter Mary who married in 1872, Regent Road, Salford with father James a Painter (MMN confirmed as "EDDOWS" on birth record).
1861 James, a painter, and "Fras" (46 & 39) were at Regent Road, Salford with their three daughters.
James and Frances both died in November 1865, just 6 days appart.
