Emma's father was Robert Parry and her mother was Emma Eddowes. Her maternal grandparents were George Eddowes and Mary Jones. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Harry, George, Robert, John, Harriet, Elizabeth and Agnes. She was the fifth oldest of the eight children.
