Mary was born in January 1853 in Neston and her baptism took place there on January 30th, 1853.¹

Birth Notes

Mary's father was William Oxton and her mother was Thomasine Bryan. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Oxton and Rachel Williams. She had five brothers and three sisters, named George, William, Joseph, Thomas, John, Alice, Maggie and Ann. She was the oldest of the nine children.
