Margaret was born in February 1871 in Birkenhead and her baptism took place on April 2nd, 1871 at St. Mary (Birkenhead).1 2  Margaret's father was Taliesin Owen and her mother was Mary Jane Jones. She had six brothers and two sisters, named William, Samuel, Taliesin, Harold, Arthur, Tilston, Elizabeth and Amy.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 2 in June 1873 in Birkenhead.3
