Henry was born on September 23rd, 1885 in Parbold.1  Henry's father was Richard Orrell and his mother was Sarah Gorse.  His paternal grandparents were George Orrell and Mary Molyneux; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Gorse and Alice Mawdsley. He had four brothers and two sisters, named George, Thomas, George, Richard, Mary and Alice.  He was the youngest of the seven children.

‌Henry and Margaret were married in a religious ceremony on September 30th, 1911 in Wigan.3  They had a son and a daughter, named Richard and Polly.  There are no more children.
