George's father was Richard Orrell and his mother was Sarah Gorse.  His paternal grandparents were George Orrell and Mary Molyneux; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Gorse and Alice Mawdsley. He had four brothers and two sisters, named George, Thomas, Richard, Henry, Mary and Alice.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 68 on December 7th, 1946 in Belmont.  He was buried on December 7th, 1946.³
