Sarah was born on May 28th, 1849 in Orrell.1  Sarah's father was Thomas Gorse and her mother was Alice Mawdsley.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 74 on December 8th, 1923 in Wigan.  She was buried on December 13th, 1923 in Wrightington.2
