Eliza Nightingale

Eliza was born in 1833 in Sharples and her christening took place on June 17th, 1832 in Bolton.^1 2

Eliza's father was William Nightingale and her mother was Peggy (Margaret) Riding.  Her paternal grandparents were Humphrey Nightingale and Mary Hart; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Riding and Molly Gorner. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Robert, Joseph, John, Mary, Ellen, Ann and Alice.  She was the second youngest of the eight children.  She died after 1885.

‌Eliza and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony on December 31st, 1854 at St. John (Bolton).³
