William James Mather

William was born in September 1875 in Turton.

William's father was John Mather and his mother was Mary Jane Miller. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Mather and Elizabeth (Betty) Marsden. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Isaac, John, Abraham, Henry, Harold, Mary, Esther and Ruth. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 55 on January 30th, 1931 in Ulverston.¹
