Thomas was born in November 1737 in Warrington and his baptism took place on November 13th, 1737 at St. Elphin (Warrington).1  Thomas' father was John Mather and his mother was Ellen Blinstone.  His maternal grandparents were Richard Blinstone and Margaret (?). He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, John, Richard, Peter, Ralph, Joseph, Isaac, Margaret, Ellen and Emma.  Thomas and Richard were twins.  He died at the age of 31 in April 1769 in Warrington.  He was buried on April 18th, 1769 at St. Elphin (Warrington).1
