Emma was born in January 1757 in Warrington and her baptism took place on January 23rd, 1757 at St. Elphin (Warrington).1  Emma's father was John Mather and her mother was Ellen Blinstone.  Her maternal grandparents were Richard Blinstone and Margaret (?). She had eight brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, John, Thomas, Richard, Peter, Ralph, Joseph, Isaac, Margaret and Ellen.  She died at the age of 27 in April 1784 in Warrington.  She was buried on April 6th, 1784 at St. Elphin (Warrington).2
