Sarah Mather

Sarah was born in 1836 in Atherton.¹

Sarah's father was William Mather and her mother was Betty Edge. Her paternal grandparents were <unknown> and Ann Mather. She had four brothers and a sister, named James, Peter, Samuel, Richard and Ann. She was the second oldest of the six children.

- In 1851, Sarah (14) was at Valley, Atherton with her parents William and Betty (40 & 46), silk weavers.
  
  In 1871, Sarah (34, head), was at 51 Bolton Old Road with daughter Ann (14) and son John (6).
