Ann Mather

Ann was born in July 1788 in Atherton and her baptism took place on October 11th, 1788 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).¹²

Ann's father was Samuel Mather and her mother was Ellen Green. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Green and Margaret Speakman. She had four brothers and a sister, named John, James, James, Samuel and Jane. She was the oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 74 in January 1863 in Atherton. Her burial was on January 5th, 1863 at St. Mary (Deane).³⁴
