General Notes
This is not the James b.1792 from Rumworth in 1841. The 1851 cesus shows that James was born in Turton
James did NOT marry Betty Jameson on 5th Jan 1815 at Leigh. That was another older James Mather b.1792 Atherton that lived to over 80.
Therefore, this leaves James b.1796 from Hindley who was buried at Deane in 1834, aged 38. He may have married Esther Plat 13 Feb 1814 at Leigh. There are no Leigh baptisms for James and Esther.

James and Esther were married in a religious ceremony on February 13th, 1814 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh) by Vicar Daniel Birkett and witnessed by Thomas Lees & James Lees.4 There are no children.
