Ann's father was William Mather and her mother was Betty Edge.  Her paternal grandparents were <unknown> and Ann Mather. She had four brothers and a sister, named James, Peter, Samuel, Richard and Sarah.  She was the third oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 3 in 1841 in Atherton.²
