Sarah Mather

Sarah was born in October 1835 in Bolton and her baptism took place on October 11th, 1835 at St. Peter's (Bolton) conducted by Vicar J Slade.¹

Sarah's father was William Mather and her mother was Esther Dewhurst. Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Alice Mort. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named William, John, Alice, Ann, Ellen, Ellen, Mary, Jane and Betsy. She had an adopted brother named William. She died at the age of 22 in December 1857 in Deane. Her burial was in December 1857 at St. Mary (Deane).²³

- 16 May 1856, John Young, a Striker (illegitimate) married Sarah Mather, daughter of William Mather a weaver at St Peter's, Bolton.
  
  After giving birth to son William Pope Young in Q4 1856, Sarah died the following year.
