Sarah Mather

Sarah was born in October 1842 in Little Hulton and her baptism took place on February 1st, 1843 in Horwich.¹²

Sarah's father was Joshua Grundy and her mother was Betty Mather. Her maternal grandparents were James Thornley (Mather) and Margaret (Peggy) Mather. She had five brothers and six sisters, named James, Thomas, Joseph, Robert, William, Ann, Mary, Ellen, Alice, Martha and Sarah. She was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 15 in March 1858 in Little Hulton.³
