Robert Mather

Robert was born in 1854 in Little Hulton.¹

Robert's father was Joshua Grundy and his mother was Betty Mather. His maternal grandparents were James Thornley (Mather) and Margaret (Peggy) Mather. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named James, Thomas, Joseph, William, Ann, Sarah, Mary, Ellen, Alice, Martha and Sarah. He was the third youngest of the twelve children.
