Richard was born in January 1750 in Bolton and his baptism took place on February 2nd, 1750 at St. Mary (Deane).1  Richard's father was John Mather and his mother was Mary Meadowcroft. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, John, Jeffery, Lettice, Mary, Alice and Martha. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Jeffery and Betty.  He died at 9 months old in October 1750 in Bolton.  His burial was on October 9th, 1750 at St. Mary (Deane).2 2
