Lettice was born in January 1753 in Halliwell and her baptism took place on February 1st, 1753 at St. Mary (Deane).1  Lettice's father was John Mather and her mother was Mary Meadowcroft. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Richard, John, Jeffery, Mary, Alice and Martha. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Jeffery and Betty.  She died at the age of 48 in March 1801 in Heapey.  She was buried on April 1st, 1801 at St. Peter's (Bolton).2

‌Lettice and Richard were married in a religious ceremony on November 19th, 1777 at St. Mary (Deane) by Vicar Robert Latham.3   They had a son and a daughter, named John and Betty.  There are possibly more children.
