Jeffery was born in March 1760 in Farnworth and his baptism took place on March 19th, 1760 at St. Mary (Deane).1  Jeffery's father was John Mather and his mother was Mary Meadowcroft. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Richard, John, Lettice, Mary, Alice and Martha.  Jeffery and Martha were twins. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Jeffery and Betty.  He died at 2 months old on May 23rd, 1760 in Farnworth.  His burial was on May 23rd, 1760 at St. Mary (Deane).2 2
