Mary was born in 1851 in Little Bolton.¹

Birth Notes

Mary's father was James Mather and her mother was Mary Stott. Her paternal grandparents were Charles Mather and Mary Dawson. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Charles, John, James, Emma, Nancy, Sarah, Louisa, Alice and Annie. She was the oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 1 in 1852 in Little Bolton.¹
