Mary was born in August 1806 in Middleton and her baptism took place there on August 27th, 1806.1 2  Mary's father was Bold (Bould) Mather and her mother was Alice Taylor.  Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Eckersley. She had three brothers and two sisters, named John, John, James, Ann and Mary.  She was the youngest of the six children. She had two half-sisters named Nancy and Eliza.  She died at 5 months old in January 1807 in Middleton.  Her burial was on January 19th, 1807 in Middleton.3
