John Mather

John's father was Bold (Bould) Mather and his mother was Alice Taylor.  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Eckersley. He had two brothers and three sisters, named John, James, Ann, Mary and Mary.  He was the oldest of the six children. He had two half-sisters named Nancy and Eliza.  He died at 9 months old in November 1795 in Tonge-with-Haulgh.  He was buried on November 12th, 1795 in Middleton.²
