John Mather

John was born on October 22nd, 1804 in Redvales and his baptism took place on November 25th, 1804 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).¹

John's father was Richard Mather and his mother was Betty (Elizabeth) Barlow. His paternal grandparents were William Mather and Elizabeth (Betty) Ingram. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Hardy, James, William, Rachel, Ellen, Sally and Martha. He was the sixth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 53 in September 1858 in Salford.²
