James William Mather

James was born in September 1868 in Rochdale.¹

James' father was George Henry Washington Mathers and his mother was Jane Lee.  His paternal grandparents were James Mathers and Mary Ann Harding(?). He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Charles, George, Herbert, George, John, Joseph, Albert, Jane and Alice.  He was the second oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 1 in March 1870 in Rochdale.¹
