James Mather

James was born in 1811 in Billinge and his baptism took place on November 24th, 1811 at St. Aidan (Billinge).¹²

James' father was Joshua Mather and his mother was Margaret (Peggy) Mather. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Ann Berrington. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Joshua, William, Peter, Ann, Sarah and Margaret. He was the third oldest of the seven known children.
