Note: There is also a Peter Mather (49), not from Lancashire living at Back Cross Street in 1841. James the Grocer may be his son (as also not from Lancashire).

In 1871, James Mather (49, born Bury) was a machine printer at Glossop, "son" of Sally (but only 11 years younger than her)
