Birth Notes

James' father was Edward Mather and his mother was Betsy Morris. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ellen Farnworth. He had three brothers and six sisters, named William, John, Edwin, Mary, Francis, Mary, Jane, Ellen and Betsy. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.
