George was baptised, 14 Jan 1827, son of James and Ellen. There is another George baptised in March, son of Thomas and Emmy.
After their father died, (and in 1841 and 1851), Elizabeth, George and John lived with and worked for their grandmother Betty Hope. In 1841, they were servants at Leighs Tanners for Elizabeth Hope (60, Farmer)
In 1851, Elizabeth, George and John (26, 24 & 22) were living and working for their aunt Betty Hope (76, Widow), farming 30 acres at Janner's Fold, Blackrod.
