Ellen Mather

Ellen was born in 1781 in Billinge and her baptism took place on March 14th, 1781 at St. Aidan (Billinge).¹

Ellen's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Hannah Cross.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Hannah Rawlinson. She had five brothers and five sisters, named John, Henry, Thomas, Isaac, Richard, Betty, Betty, Hannah, Margaret and Alice.  She was the second youngest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 82 in October 1863 in Billinge.  She was buried on October 27th, 1863 at St. Aidan (Billinge).¹
