Ellen Mather

Ellen was born in 1800 in Bolton and her baptism took place on February 23rd, 1800 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

  Ellen of John & Ann Mather of G.B.

Ellen's father was John Mather and her mother was Ann (Nancy) Greenwood. She had four brothers and five sisters, named John, Charles, Thomas, James, Alice, Nancy, Ellen, Ellen and Mary. She was the eighth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 73 on June 14th, 1873 in Adlington.²

  Administration of the Effects of Ellen Ridyard formerly of Bolton-le-Moors but late of Adlington both in the County of Lancaster, Widow, who died 14 June 1873 at the "Ridgeway Arms" Inn, Adlington was granted at Lancaster to Robert Ridyard of Bolton-le-Moors in the said County, Bricklayer the Son and one of the Next of Kin.

  In 1861, Ellen was a Dressmaker (63) with her nice and nephew Ann and John at 10 Bejing Court off Bradshaw Street.
