Elizabeth was born in January 1839 in Elton.¹

Birth Notes

Elizabeth's father was Solomon Mather and her mother was Jane Scowcroft. Her paternal grandparents were Solomon Mather and Mary (Mally) Grime. She had a brother and seven sisters, named Samuel, Mary, Alice, Martha, Nancy, Margaret, Mary and Rachel. She was the oldest of the nine children. She died about 1872 in Bury.
