Alice Mather

Alice was born in 1842 in Elton.¹

Alice's father was Solomon Mather and her mother was Jane Scowcroft. Her paternal grandparents were Solomon Mather and Mary (Mally) Grime. She had a brother and seven sisters, named Samuel, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha, Nancy, Margaret, Mary and Rachel. She was the third oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 67 in December 1909 in Bury.²
