Elizabeth (Betty) Mather

Elizabeth, known as Betty, was born in 1817 in Westhoughton and her baptism took place on May 25th, 1817 at St. Katherine (B'rod).¹

Betty's father was Edward Mather and her mother was Ruth Gregory.  Her paternal grandparents were William Mather and Alice Aldcroft. She had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Richard, Edward, Ruth, Martha, Ellen, Alice and Ruth.  She was the third youngest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 16 in February 1833 in Westhoughton.  She was buried on February 8th, 1833 at St. Bartholomew (Westhoughton).²
