Alice Mather

Alice was born in 1813 in Westhoughton and her baptism took place on August 1st, 1813 in Blackrod.¹

Alice's father was Edward Mather and her mother was Ruth Gregory. Her paternal grandparents were William Mather and Alice Aldcroft. She had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Richard, Edward, Ruth, Martha, Ellen, Betty and Ruth. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 14 in February 1827 in Westhoughton. She was buried on February 18th, 1827 at St. Bartholomew (Westhoughton).²
