Anne was born on October 12th, 1827 in Manchester and her baptism took place on November 4th, 1828 in Salford.1  Anne's father was Joseph Mather and her mother was Ann Livsley.  Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Mather and Hannah Dale. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, George, Joseph, George, Sarah, Mary and Elizabeth.  She was the second youngest of the eight known children.
