Ann's father was Michael Mather and her mother was Betty Street.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Margaret Scholes. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Wright, Michael, John, Charles, Alice, Betty and Mary.  She was the oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 53 in October 1868 in Prestwich.  She was buried on October 10th, 1868 in Prestwich.³
