Andrew was born in 1877 in Edgworth and his baptism took place on August 19th, 1877 at St. Anne (Turton).¹²

Birth Notes

Andrew's father was William Mather and his mother was Sarah Jane Briggs. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Mather and Elizabeth (Isabel) Holden. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, George, William, John, Amos, Fred, Samuel, Alice and Annie. He was the third oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 1 in 1878 in Edgworth.¹
