Alice Mather

Alice was born in December 1849 in Westhoughton and her baptism took place on February 3rd, 1850 at St. Bartholomew (Westhoughton).¹

Alice's father was Joseph Mather and her mother was Jane (Ann) Smith. Her paternal grandparents were Geffrey (Jeffery) Mather and Catherine Gregory. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Jeffrey, Catherine, Ann, Alice, Ellen and Mary. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 3 in October 1853 in Westhoughton. Her burial was on October 2nd, 1853 in Westhoughton.²²
