Abraham Mather

Abraham was born in December 1819 in Droylsden and his baptism took place on December 12th, 1819 in Newton Heath.¹²

Abraham's father was William Mather and his mother was Jane Biggarstaff. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, William, Thomas, James, Margaret, Anne, Alice, Sarah and Betty. He was the second oldest of the ten children.

- In 1861, Abraham was a farmer of 9 acres at Cock Lane, Droylsden, married to Betty with four Schofield step-children.
