Mary was born in January 1806 in Ewloe and her baptism took place on March 9th, 1806 in Hawarden.1  Mary's father was Robert Lewis and her mother was Rachel Millington.  Her maternal grandparents were John Millington and Mary Connah. She had five brothers and four sisters, named John, John, Thomas, Edward, Charles, Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Rachel and Rachel.  She was the fourth oldest of the ten children.
