Sarah was born in 1748 in Beeston and her baptism took place on May 7th, 1748 in Bunbury.1  Sarah's father was Richard Ledsham and her mother was Ann Lucas.  Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Richard Ledsham and Mary Sellers; her maternal grandparents were Richard Lucas and Elizabeth Chancelour. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Richard, William, Mary, Ann, Martha and Hannah.  She was the second oldest of the seven known children.
